You can still browse the internet anonymously and the perception that our emails are be spied is 'bad', explains Fabio Coelho, country Director of Google in Brazil.
The internet giant has been among the companies criticised recently after reports published by the British Guardian newspaper - based on the documents leaked by the former technician of the CIA Edward Snowden , which revealed links between those companies and the regime of surveillance by the Security Agency American NSA.
In an interview with BBC Brazil, Coelho said the what that Snowden revelations are, the truth is that "did not there was violation of privacy" in Google.
To Brazil, the subject is debated in Congress with the defense civil Marco Internet, which deals with issues such as privacy online and removal of web content.

BBC Brazil - there is a growing recognition that Gmail, Google mail, have no private life. What I write in my email address is read by a person without my consent?
Fábio Coelho - this is a misperception. Absolutely not. There been no violation of privacy in Google platform.
BBC Brasi l -then why this perception?
Fábio Coelho - there is a lot of misinformation and attempt to bring the discussion on an issue which is not central. Logically, Gmail is a huge platform, which has a huge user base, it is feared that the terms of privacy are well known to everyone.
BBC Brazil – it is to be feared in the privacy of the people of backup Google?
Fábio Coelho - one of the great strengths of Google trust, and we will continue to educate people about available on our platform privacy options. (But), as all subjects of the internet is a new topic, it is a continuous process.
But Google has very clear privacy policies, and our goal is to highlight what people can know when they want to sail with certain elements that allow the navigation turns into services and the understanding of their habits, or when they want to surf anonymous, which is also an option. Fábio Coelho - Yes, the authorities must make requests according to the rules, with due process, we provide the data to the Government in serious cases.
BBC Brazil - recently, Google Brazil refused, in a public hearing, which provided the American NSA data. What can say us about this?
Fábio Coelho - what must be assessed is the number of users with Google, which are billions around the world. We trust (with users) that has lasted 15 years. It is an undertaking concerned with the transparency of their data. But we cannot discuss what is an agreement between the U.S. Government and the disclosure of respect American business (Google).
BBC Brazil – The YouTube, requests for removal of content doubled, what can say us about this?
Fábio Coelho - we are in favour of freedom of expression in relation to the laws of the country, but there one hundred hours of content from YouTube (addition) per minute. It is a liberating platform. We use the most requests (to remove the content) it. It is a platform with 1 billion users.
BBC Brazil - if I'm worried about my privacy online with Google, what should I do?
